New Health Coverage Eligibility Requirements

Effective October 1, 2024

Health Fund Benefit Coverage has changed from Quarterly Eligibility Periods to Bi-Annual Eligibility Periods. Fund Participants will now be able to remain eligible for longer with new 6-month eligibility periods.

Initial Eligibility Requirements

Personal Choice Coinsurance Coverage

Under the new rules, members achieve initial eligibility after working 800 hours in a consecutive six-month period, provided that the Fund Office receives the contributions owed for those hours. Eligibility begins within 60 days following the month in which you meet the initial eligibility requirement. You will remain initially eligible for the balance of the then-current six-month Eligibility Period and the following Eligibility Period.

For example, if you start working on January 1st and you work your 800th credited hour on June 10th, you will become eligible for health coverage on September 1st. Look for your benefit package in the mail. 

Major Medial Coverage Plan

80/20 Coinsurance
  • Active Eligibility - 800 or 1600 hours per corresponding work period
  • Out-of-Pocket Maximums - $3,250 / $9,750
  • Individual Deductible - $250 with a max of three per family

Life Event? Newly married or birth of a child? If you are an Active Covered Participant eligible for benefits under the Health Plan, your eligible family members are also covered for the same benefits as you!
